Why
We intend to do this by creating and developing successful business and business entities that address some of the social issues in their initial design.
The following are some of the issues and situations that exist in the world “Right Now!” The situation in the world is pretty disturbing. We have wars and terrorism going on all over the world. It seems like we have been in war since September 11, 2001. The Council on Foreign Relations Contingency Planning listed the top 8 threats to the US in 2015 as follows:
- Iran Nuclear Crisis
- Civil War in Iraq
- Increased Violence and Instability in Afghanistan
- Civil War in Syria
- South China Sea Armed Confrontation
- North Korean Crisis
- Violence in Eastern Ukraine
- Escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
According to www.globalissues.org at least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 per day. Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names. Only 1.1 billion people in developing countries have adequate water and 2.6 billion lack basic sanitation. Worldwide 1.6 billion people live without electricity. For every $1 in aid a developing country receives, over $25 is spent on debt repayment. Approximately 790 million people in the developing world are still chronically undernourished, almost two-thirds of whom reside in Asia and the Pacific.
In 2005, the wealthiest 20% of the world accounted for 76.6% of total private consumption. In 2006, the world’s wealthiest countries (approximately 1 billion people) account for 76% of the world’s GDP of $48.2 trillion. Their numbers indicate that approximately 85% of the world’s wealth is owned and controlled by the 15% of the people.
